Intention of this Work

Using my voice and sharing my perspective has been a long journey for me. I've spent several of the last few years cultivating a deeper connection with it, as well as with myself, and the ways in which I envision myself showing up in this world. My reconnection with the medicines of the earth has been a powerful journey, one of healing and inspiration, community, and truly connecting with myself, as I engage in relationships with all our relatives.I want this work to share aspects of that story and help others cultivate deeper connections with themselves and the earth. I will be using both a prose and ethnobotanical approach to this work. I will share stories about my connection to the medicines of place, plants, fungi, and animals; as well as ways to deepen those relationships (through medicinal and nourishing knowledge, identification, and instructions). I will be including my original visual artwork in this book as well.

Crystal Brown, of Inspired North, will cover ways of building intentional relationships with plants and fungi through food, medicine, and stories. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to identification skills and relationship building with seasonally available plants and fungi. We will also discuss harvesting and processing techniques, as well as safety and ethical considerations. We will also discuss the importance of integrating gratitude and reciprocity into our outdoor practices. This 3-hour session will involve hiking along unpaved paths, with changes of elevation, and at times going off trail in non-sensitive areas. Classes will be held within a 30-minute drive from Green Bay, Wisconsin; location to be sent out prior to class. This class is geared to the beginner/novice or just plain curious and is appropriate for adults and older children/teens (children must be supervised by a parent/guardian/approved adult).

We will also discuss opportunities to cultivate plant and mushroom relationships in your own neighborhoods/communities.
